# ShowsUp for Zoom

Connect Zoom and ShowsUp automatically marks a meeting as attended the moment your prospect joins the call — and cancels the no-show reminder it would otherwise send. This page covers connecting Zoom, how attendance detection works, the permission we ask for, and how to remove ShowsUp.

## Connect Zoom

1. Sign in to ShowsUp and open [Settings → Integrations](https://app.showsup.ai/settings?tab=integrations&section=int-video).
2. Under **Zoom**, click **Connect Zoom**. You'll be sent to Zoom's consent screen — review the requested permission and click **Allow**.
3. Zoom returns you to ShowsUp with the integration connected. The Zoom card now shows a **Connected** badge and the Zoom account it's linked to.

Connecting requires a Zoom account with meeting participant reporting (Zoom Pro or above). You can also install ShowsUp from its [Zoom Marketplace listing](https://marketplace.zoom.us/apps/upshow) — it directs you to the same in-app Connect flow.

Don't have an ShowsUp account? Sign up free at [app.showsup.ai/signup](https://app.showsup.ai/signup).

## One setting to check

For attendance to be detected reliably on every plan — including free Zoom accounts — make sure prospects can't join _before_ you. In your [Zoom meeting settings](https://zoom.us/profile/setting?tab=meeting), enable **Waiting Room** (or turn off **Join before host**). This holds the prospect until you admit them, which is the moment ShowsUp uses to mark the meeting attended. Account admins can lock this on for the whole team. ShowsUp will also remind you of this on the Settings → Integrations page once Zoom is connected.

## How attendance detection works

Once connected, ShowsUp listens for participant events on your Zoom meetings. For any ShowsUp meeting that has a Zoom join link:

- When your **prospect joins** the call, ShowsUp marks the meeting as attended and cancels the scheduled no-show reminder — so nobody gets a "you missed our call" nudge after they've actually shown up.
- The join and leave are recorded on the meeting's timeline, so you can see exactly when the prospect arrived.
- Only the prospect's join matters. Your own join (the host) never changes the meeting status.

There's nothing to run per-meeting — attendance is detected automatically for every meeting with a Zoom link while the integration is connected.

## Permission explained

When you connect Zoom, ShowsUp requests a single scope:

View meeting participant information (`meeting:read:participant`)

So ShowsUp can tell when a participant joins or leaves a meeting and match them to the prospect on the corresponding ShowsUp meeting. ShowsUp does not read meeting content, recordings, or chat, and never shares your Zoom data with third parties. Participant events are used only within your own ShowsUp account.

## Troubleshooting

A meeting wasn't marked attended after the prospect joined

Check the meeting has a Zoom join link on the ShowsUp meeting record, and that the prospect joined from the same email address you have on file. Attendance matching uses the participant's email first, then their display name.

The Connect Zoom button returns an error

Make sure you completed Zoom's consent screen with the permission checked. If you cancelled or denied it, click **Connect Zoom** again and select **Allow**.

The Zoom card shows "Pro plan required"

Participant reporting is a Zoom Pro (and above) feature. Free Zoom accounts don't emit the participant events ShowsUp relies on for attendance detection.

## Remove ShowsUp

You can disconnect Zoom two ways — both delete the Zoom tokens ShowsUp stores:

1. **From ShowsUp:** open [Settings → Integrations](https://app.showsup.ai/settings?tab=integrations&section=int-video), and click **Disconnect** on the Zoom card. ShowsUp revokes the token with Zoom and deletes its stored copy.
2. **From Zoom:** go to [your installed Zoom apps](https://marketplace.zoom.us/user/installed), find ShowsUp, and click **Remove**. Zoom notifies ShowsUp of the uninstall, and ShowsUp automatically deletes your stored Zoom tokens and account link, then confirms the deletion back to Zoom.

Either way, your ShowsUp account, meetings, and reminder history are preserved — only the Zoom connection is removed. Reconnect any time from Settings.
